Cherry Sauce for Ham Steaks

Description
Add spice and a touch of vinegar to preserves for a quick cherry sauce for ham.

Ingredients
  • * 2 Cook's® Bone-in Ham Steaks (about 1 pound each)
  • * 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
  • * 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • * 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • * 1-12 ounce jar Bing Cherry Preserves

Preparation
  1. Combine preserves, vinegar, cinnamon and nutmeg in small saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Reduce heat to medium-low; simmer 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Set aside.
  2. Prepare ham steaks according to package directions. Serve cherry sauce over ham.

Notes
To use cherry sauce as a ham glaze, prepare as directed. Brush onto Cook's® Ham the last 30 minutes of the ham baking time. For best results, do not cover ham once glaze has been added.
